LONDON — Carly Mink’s South Laurel Lady Cardinals (25-5) are moving on to the 50th District Fastpitch Tournament title game after upending Williamsburg, 15-0, on Monday.
“It’s a big accomplishment to get out of this district and earn a spot in the region tournament but we’re not looking past tomorrow,” Mink said. “We’re just focusing on one game at a time. We played well today, and did what we needed to do.”
Emmie Rice continued her impressive play at the plate, delivering a home run while finishing with two hits, five RBI, and one run scored.
Bailey Frazier finished with two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored while Audrey Likins delivered two hits and two RBI. Addison Baker had two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored while Morgan Jackson delivered two hits, an RBI, and scored once. Skye Lawson connected with a hit, an RBI while scoring twice. Sadie Lewis had a hit, and scored once while Ryleigh Bretz scored twice and drove in a run. Kenzie Williams also had a hit.
Williams got the win, tossing three hitless and scoreless innings while striking out six batters. Likins pitched an inning of scoreless ball while allowing a hit, and finishing with a strikeouts.
