Red-hot Jaguars pick up sixth consecutive win

LEXINGTON — North Laurel (17-12) captured its sixth consecutive win, remaining the hottest team in the 13th Region after picking up a 6-4 victory over Tates Creek on Thursday.

Cooper Parman got the win on the mound while going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Ashton Napier added a hit and two RBI while Eli Holt also drove in two runs. Cooper Elza delivered two hits while Carter Kelley connected with a double.

“We had another good win tonight at Tates Creek,” North Laurel coach Darren McWhorter said. “Cooper Parman got the win, pitching two innings and Cam Hinkle got the save, pitching the final inning but we also had Bradyn Evans and Tanner Houchens throw two innings each as well.  “We had some timely hits tonight and made plays defensively to help secure the victory,” he added. “That gives us six wins in a row, so we are playing our best at the end of the season.”
