CORBIN — Crystal Stidham’s Corbin Lady Redhounds got a much-needed win on Monday, snapping a two-game losing skid by defeating Bell County, 10-0.
Danni Foley tossed a no-hitter on senior night while Morgan Hicks and Raegan Walker both connected with home runs.
“Tonight was Senior Night for our five seniors,” Stidham said. What a game for them. We were grateful to get our game in with the weather and after a cancellation, we were able to work out a game with Bell County. We had had four games cancelled in the past couple of weeks, so I’m just glad to get the game in with the weather outlook for this last week of regular season.
“I’m so proud of this group of ladies and our team,” she added. “They came in focused on hitting, playing solid defense, and were able to get the job done. This point of the season, we have to lock in and be ready and just focus one game at a time and even down to one pitch at a time, one hit at a time, and do what we know to do.
“Tonight, we did that now on to the next,” Stidham continued. “Super-excited to see Raegan Walker and Morgan Hicks barrel up. Great to see them hitting their stride. Both went yard tonight, Raegan had a couple big hits each snagging three RBI each. The rest of my girls were poised looking for strikes and picked up walks and Mo and Rae came in and brought them home. Just proud of our girls! Let’s Go Lady Redhounds.”
Foley was on top of her game, pitching all five innings while recording 11 strikeouts.
Hicks finished with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored while Walker was 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored. Foley also delivered a hit while Chloe Bays drove in a run.
Corbin (10-13) scored five runs in the first inning before adding three runs in the second inning, and two runs in the third inning.
