Williamsburg fights back from seven-run deficit to defeat Middlesboro 

WILLIAMSBURG — Brennan Patrick’s Williamsburg Yellow Jackets spotted Middlesboro a 9-2 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth before rallying to pick up a come-from-behind 10-9 win on Friday.

Williamsburg (2-17) scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth before adding four runs in the sixth inning. Logan Petrey sealed the win for his team when his grounder was misplayed which scored Kevin Wells.

Ethan Reed led Williamsburg with three hits, five RBI and one run scored while Wells had a hit and scored twice. Colton Gobel finished with one hit, three RBI, and a run scored while Petrey and Connor Vanover scored two runs apiece. Hayden Kleinhart, and Brydon Moore both scored once.

Jacob Jones got the win, pitching the final two innings, allowing no hits or runs while striking out two batters.
