Colonels record 17th straight win over Williamsburg 

WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County’s dominance continues over Williamsburg on Tuesday.

The Colonels won their 17th straight game against the Yellow Jackets, improving to 18-4 overall, and 4-1 against district opponents thanks to a 20-0 victory.

“Good win tonight and we have another important one tomorrow,” Whitley County coach Jeremy Shope said. 

Whitley County scored in every inning, pushing across six runs in the first inning, three runs in the second inning, four runs in the third inning, and seven runs in the fourth inning.

The Colonels’ EJ Allen and Trey Walton pitched two innings apiece with Allen allowing no hits or runs while striking out two batters. Walton allowed a hit and no runs while striking out three batters.

Allen connected with a home run along with teammate Jason Nunley. 

Allen finished with two hits, an RBI, and three runs scored while Nunley added two RBI, and scored twice. Ronald Osborne was 2-for-2 with two RBI, and four runs scored while Clint Partin finished with a hit and two RBI. Henry Bowling collected a hit, an RBI, and scored three times while Dee Parker, Kip Allen, and Kaden Powers each finished with a hit, an RBI, and a run scored apiece. Ty Petrey drove in a run, and scored once while Eli Powers scored twice. Landon Rose also scored in the win.

Ethan Reed had Williamsburg’s lone hit. The loss dropped the Yellow Jackets to 1-15, and 0-5 against district opponents.
