LONDON — South Laurel’s Kenzie Williams was at the top of her game on Friday, limiting harlan County to one hit while striking out 12 batters to lead the Lady Cardinals (11-4) to a 10-0 win over Harlan County.

Carly Mink’s squad scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back. South Laurel added four runs in the second inning, and two runs in the third inning before adding another run in the fifth inning.

“Good to get a win tonight,” Mink said. “We put yesterday behind us as soon as it was over. We’re just focusing on getting better everyday.

Hit the ball really well tonight especially at the bottom of the lineup,” she added. “Kenzie was great tonight, only giving up one hit and 12 strikeouts. Defense was great behind Kenzie tonight. A lot of credit to our catcher and how she’s receiving the ball right now.”
