Lady Jaguars jump out to 5-0 lead before falling to Anderson County, 9-7

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — North Laurel jumped out to a 5-0 lead and look well on its way to a victory against Anderson County before allowing nine unanswered runs to fall behind 9-5.
The Lady Jaguars (7-2) pushed across two runs in the top of the seventh but couldn’t get any closer, losing 9-7.
Emma Carl took the loss in the pitcher’s circle, going 5.1 innings while allowing nine hits and seven runs. She struck out three batters. Tessa Monhollen pitched the final two/thirds of an inning, giving up two hits and an earned run while striking out a batter.
Monhollen had a big game at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, and a run scored while Bella Finley also had three hits. Ellie Adams added two hits, an RBI, and a run scored while Saige McClure finished with a hit, two RBI, and one run scored. Katie Sams delivered a hit, an RBI and a run scored while Katie Keen had a hit and a run scored. Carl finished with a hit while Bella Sizemore scored a run.
