CHICAGO, Ill — Whitley County looked well on its to win No. 4 after holding a 7-3 lead over Taft entering the bottom of the sixth of Wednesday’s games.
But the Lady Eagles rallied for six runs in the bottom of the sixth, stunning the Lady Colonels (3-7) with an 11-7 come from behind win.
Hallie Huddleston went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate while driving in a run, and scoring three times in the loss. Caylee Singleton went 2-for-4 with two RBI while Morgan Huddleston delivered a hit and an RBI. Cambree Price finished with a hit and a run scored while Mia Prewitt drove in a run. Jayden Barton finished with a hit and a run scored while Adalee Johnson and Jadynn Johnson each scored a run apiece.
Singleton took the loss in the pitcher’s circle, throwing seven innings while surrendering 11 hits and 10 earned runs while striking out two batters.
