As with every team, there is a period of learning and growth.
The Jackson County Generals Baseball Team has recently experienced this period of storming and norming; the common grounds found have brought them to a time of performance, much like they experienced in the past season.
This shift occurs every season with every team. Some athletes graduate, leaving holes in the group’s typical performance, and some athletes move up to play their first season.
Early-season dynamics are often challenged while everyone finds their place and takes on new, and sometimes bigger, roles.
Ultimately, the “storming” period is one that shapes a team, either for a season of success or failure. It is how a group responds and comes back from disagreements and shifts of power that determines the outcome of this stage.
When coaches and fellow players respond by understanding the importance of a team’s dynamics, often the other side is met before the adjustment period can harshly impact the season. It is in this timely bounce-back that the true colors of a team are found, bonds are created, and promising coaching is of all importance.
After two heartbreaking losses to open the season, the Generals were able to find their groove, only allowing three runs in the next four games that would follow.
It is safe to say that without the team’s troubled beginning to the season, a balance wouldn’t have been met to this degree.
With eyes on the prize, the Generals are set for a successful season as the Fort Walton Beach Bash is soon to be played.
