BARBOURVILLE — Knox Central captured its fourth consecutive 51st District championship after upending Pineville on Thursday, 59-40.
Led by Halle Collins’ 22-point scoring effort, the Lady Panthers pulled away in the final two quarters after trailing 25-23 at halftime.
Knox Central outscored the Lady Mountain Lions, 36-15, in the second half while using a 24-6 run in the third quarter to pull away.
Hannah Melton, Shelbie Mills, and MacKenzie scored 11 points apiece in the win while Kaylynn Smith added four points.
Ava Arnett led Pineville with 14 points while Addison Arnett and Rachel Howard scored 11 points apiece.
