BEATTYVILLE — Williamsburg had hopes of capturing their second straight win but fell, 55-43, to Lee County on Monday.
The Lady Yellow Jackets (7-16) hung tough throughout the contest before Lee County pulled away in the fourth quarter.
Braylee Evans led the way with 12 points while Hannah Creekmore, Presley Spicer, and Lorelei Coleman each scored seven points apiece.
“Tough loss tonight on the road,” Williamsburg coach Melissia Douglas said. “Overall, I’m still pleased with the points given on the board by so many players. Our turnovers and foul trouble cost us. Lee County had two great players tonight in the paint that alone had 35 points combined. The team is shooting so much more and I love that. We had three players to shoot from the perimeter and that is making gains in my eyes.”
