Colonels finish BSN Borderline Classic with perfect 3-0 record 

WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County finished the BSN Borderline Classic in fine fashion with a 67-63 win over Gallatin County.

The Colonels finished the event with a perfect 3-0 mark while improving to 11-2.

“Great win for our guys to finish off our Classic,” Whitley County coach Eric Swords said. “We continue to play great on the defensive end and made enough timely plays on the offensive end. Extremely proud of our guys as it was a team effort. Got some time now to regroup and sure up on some things we been struggling with before the 2A on Jan. 7.”

The game was close throughout with Whitley county falling behind, 11-7, in the first quarter. The Colonels outscored Gallatin County, 17-9, in the second quarter to take a 24-20 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Whitley County’s lead grew to 38-30 entering the fourth quarter, and the Colonels held off a late rally by Gallatin County to secure the win.

Riley Fuson finished with 22 points while Bryson Mahan added 19 points. Garret Sharp followed with 10 points while Aaron Rowe chipped in seven points.
