CORBIN — Corbin celebrated its seven seniors with a straight-set victory over Knox Central, winning 25-18, 25-17, 25-18.
The Lady Redhounds controlled the match throughout, but for coach Krystal Jones, the night carried meaning well beyond the final score.
“Tonight was about so much more than volleyball,” Jones said. “We were fortunate to come away with a win, but the highlight of the night was celebrating our seven seniors.”
Corbin took the opening set 25-18, followed with a 25-17 win in the second and closed out the sweep with another 25-18 victory.
“This is such a special group, and it’s a night we’ve been looking forward to for a long time,” Jones said. “We started a few Senior Night traditions years ago, and it’s been really neat to watch them continue to grow each season.”
Jones also thanked Knox Central for its patience throughout the pregame and Senior Night ceremonies.
“A big thank you to Knox Central for being so patient and gracious with our festivities tonight,” Jones said. “We truly appreciate it.”
Corbin has one regular-season match remaining before turning its attention to postseason play.
“We have one final regular season game Thursday before heading into postseason play Monday,” Jones said. “Proud of our girls, and looking forward to what’s ahead!”
