HAZARD — Knox Central continued its recent surge Friday night, earning a 42-14 road victory over Hazard for its second straight win.
The Panthers improved to 3-2 despite having six touchdowns erased by penalties during the contest. Even with the missed opportunities, Knox Central continued to produce offensively and pulled away for the 28-point victory.
“Really proud of our kids,” Knox Central coach Wayne Mills said. “We had six touchdowns called back, but at halftime, our kids responded and went out and played team ball.”
Knox Central’s ability to move past the penalties and remain productive proved important as the Panthers continued their recent turnaround.
Braydon Sizemore was among the Panthers who delivered a strong performance in the road win.
“Braydon Sizemore had a big night for us,” Mills said.
