LONDON — North Laurel battled through an up-and-down performance to pick up a 3-1 victory over Harlan County in volleyball action.
The Lady Jaguars started the match with plenty of energy, but coach Angela Singleton felt her team lost some of its rhythm as the match progressed.
“The girls came out hot the first half of the first set, then it was like we hit the wall,” Singleton said. “Our communication and coverage wasn’t what it is capable of.”
Despite not playing at the level Singleton expects from her team, North Laurel was able to overcome its struggles and finish off Harlan County in four sets.
“Tonight wasn’t our best, but these girls got the job done,” Singleton said. “So now we have to go back to work tomorrow and fix some things.”
With bigger goals still ahead, Singleton believes her players will respond to the challenge and continue working to improve.
“I know these girls have big goals and are not afraid of hard work,” Singleton said. “No doubt we will get it squared away and ready for next week. Go Jags.”
