Senior Tilly Hoskins delivered six consecutive service aces during a crucial third-set stretch as Pineville captured a four-set victory over Oneida Baptist.
The Lady Mountain Lions opened the match with a tightly contested 25-23 victory before Oneida Baptist responded with a 25-18 win in the second set to even the match.
Pineville regained control in the third. Behind a strong serving performance that included Hoskins’ run of six straight aces, the Lady Mountain Lions pulled away for a 25-16 victory.
Pineville carried that momentum into the fourth set and closed out the match with a convincing 25-13 win to secure the 3-1 victory.
“That was a really fun game!” Pineville coach Sam North said. “Our girls played very composed and found each other offensively at every spot. Our serving was on tonight too. I’m especially proud of senior Tilly Hoskins, who tallied six service aces in a row during a crucial point in the third set. Every game we are finding our momentum and chemistry, a combination I’m super excited about as we keep moving forward.”
