CORBIN — Four different Corbin players found the back of the net as the Redhounds captured the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 Tournament championship with a 4-0 shutout of Whitley County.
Alex Campos, Eli Skeen, Bentley Hoskins and Hays Steely each scored a goal for Corbin as the Redhounds used a balanced offensive attack to take control of the championship match.
Corbin was effective during the opening half, executing its game plan and capitalizing on its scoring opportunities while keeping the Colonels off the scoreboard.
“Happy with the result today,” Corbin coach Roger Taylor said. “I thought we came out and executed our game plan and were pretty clinical, especially in the first half.
“We are already seeing a lot of improvement in the way we move the ball,” he added. “Happy to progress in the 2A tournament, but we have a tough week ahead.”
