WILLIAMSBURG — Hadley Elmore recorded a hat trick and added two assists as Corbin rolled to a 7-0 victory over Harlan County in the semifinals of the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 Tournament.
The Lady Redhounds displayed a balanced offensive attack with five different players finding the back of the net.
Elmore led the way with three goals and two assists while Jersey Roberson contributed a goal and an assist. Brylei McKee, Hartlee Viars and Revi Sell each added a goal.
Emma Massengill and Khloe Gaines also contributed to the offensive attack with one assist apiece.
Corbin coach Hannah Goins was pleased with the way her team turned its recent work into results.
“We played really well tonight, and I’m very proud of this team,” Goins said. “We’ve been putting a lot of emphasis on finishing, and I think you could see that work starting to pay off tonight.
“We also used our games in Gatlinburg this weekend to focus on moving the ball better and playing together, and I thought that carried over really well tonight. We were able to rotate everyone in and get a lot of our players some varsity experience, which is always valuable.
“I’m especially proud of how well we played together and the effort everyone gave. We had multiple players find the back of the net, but more importantly, we created those opportunities by working together as a team. It was a really good overall team performance. I’m really happy that we advanced and will move on.”
