PINEVILLE — After dropping a tightly contested opening set, Pineville responded by winning three straight to defeat Lynn Camp in four sets in volleyball action.
Lynn Camp came out strong and captured the first set, 26-24, before the Lady Mountain Lions began to take control of the match.
Pineville evened things with a 25-21 victory in the second set and carried that momentum into the third, rolling to a 25-11 win.
The Lady Mountain Lions finished off the comeback in the fourth set, winning 25-14 to secure the 3-1 victory.
Pineville coach Sam North credited Lynn Camp for its performance while also being pleased with how his team responded after a mistake-filled opening set.
“Big kudos to Lynn Camp for being very prepared and ready to play today. They gave us a great match,” North said. “We made eight attacking errors and eight serving errors in the first set and were still able to come out in the next three with fire and momentum. We are still finding our chemistry and what works as a team, so I’m excited about our trajectory.”
