Panthers captured 19th straight win, and sixth consecutive district crown 

PINEVILLE — Jathan Collins and Trevor Smith each homered while Knox Central erupted for 15 runs in the opening inning on its way to a 19-0 victory over Lynn Camp in the 51st District Baseball Tournament championship game on Tuesday. 

The Panthers extended their winning streak to 19 consecutive games while capturing their sixth straight 51st District championship. Knox Central improved to 26-6 with the win.

Collins finished 2-for-2 with three runs scored and three RBI, highlighted by a home run, while Smith added a homer and four RBI. Hayden Melton tripled and drove in two runs, Brady Engle collected two hits and an RBI, and Matthew Powenski added a hit and two RBI in Knox Central’s 13-hit performance.

Noah Gray drove in two runs while Easton Ramsey added a hit and two RBI. Logan Edmondson doubled and scored a run for the Panthers.

Ramsey earned the win on the mound after tossing two hitless innings with four strikeouts. Smith worked a scoreless inning in relief, striking out two.
