CORBIN — Crystal Stidham’s Corbin Lady Redhounds remain red-hot, punching their ticket to the 13th Region Tournament after defeating Whitley County, 11-3, in the semifinals of Monday’s 50th District Tournament.
Corbin improves to 14-18, and has now won nine of its last 10 games.
Chloe Bays came up with a huge grand slam while Maxie Santos dominated in the pitcher’s circle,
“Oh, what a night for my Lady Redhounds,” Stidham said. “Just trusting the process, riding the momentum we have had coming into district. Just such a great night all around.
“Macie Santos was on a mission tonight on the mound,” she added. “She struck out 13 batters. Lydia King on fire, driving in four runs, Chloe Bays with a grand slam. Abbie Mott, Sawyer Stamper, and Izzy Walker each collected two hits on the night, and Mikaila Hopkins, Apple Terrell, and Kaili Sanders each had a hit each. We just came to play tonight! I cannot be more proud of their drive to win tonight, the atmosphere, everything. Punched their ticket, and now to the championship. Let’s Go Lady Redhounds.”
