PINEVILLE — Powered by a dominant outing from Rachel Howard and a big offensive game from Rayanna Maidon, Pineville defeated Lynn Camp 9-2 Monday in semifinal action of the 51st District Fastpitch Tournament.
Howard was outstanding in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Mountain Lions (10-12), allowing just three hits while striking out 18 across seven innings. She also helped herself at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored.
Maidon turned in one of Pineville’s top offensive efforts, finishing 2-for-3 with a home run, RBI and two runs scored.
Monica Whitehead added two hits and two RBI while Jaycee Caldwell drove in a run. Shawna Elliott also added two RBI.
Kameran Evans scored twice and collected a hit while Isabella Bells and Hannah Abner each crossed the plate in the win as Pineville finished with nine hits overall.
Lynn Camp (9-23) was led by Lily Henize, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four stolen bases. Bailey Disney added the Lady Wildcats’ other hit.
