LONDON — South Laurel broke things wide open with a nine-run fourth inning, rolling to a 16-1 victory over Williamsburg while officially locking up the No. 2 seed in the 50th District.
The Cardinals (16-8 overall, 4-2 against district opponents) jumped in front early with two runs in the first and four more in the second inning before delivering the knockout blow in the fourth inning by scoring nine runs.
Jamison West provided one of the biggest swings of the night, blasting a home run and finishing with an RBI. Waylon Hensley scored three runs and added two hits while Carter Kelley collected two hits and scored twice.
Jacob Culler drove in two runs, and Jackson Catching added two RBI while Quinn Strunk chipped in with two hits and two runs scored.
On the mound, Reece Noble was in control from the start, allowing just three hits and one run over four innings while striking out five to earn the win.
