North Laurel wins 10th straight, defeats Corbin, 6-2

LONDON — It was business as usually for Chris Edwards’ North Laurel Lady Jaguars on Friday.

The Lady Jaguars won their 10th game in a row while improving to 20-2 by defeating Corbin, 6-2.

The loss dropped the Lady Redhounds to 5-16.

“Pretty good game tonight,” North Laurel coach Chris Edwards said. “We had another game where we had plenty of hits and had people on base but couldn’t drive them in.

“Eleven hits on the night and only one strikeout,” he added. “Multiple hits from Tessa Monhollen, Lucy Jo Linville and Reeselynn Garland. Doubles for Reeselynn, Presley Griffin and a home run for Emma Carl.”

Edwards received another stellar effort from pitcher Tessa Monhollen.

“Tessa was dominant on the mound again tonight,” he said. “Five hits and only one earned run, and only walk and 12 strikeouts. We have come to expect that from her every time she gets in the circle. She’s having a tremendous season. Two games tomorrow at West Jessamine to finish out the week. Proud of our girls. Go Jags.”

Five players collected a hit in Corbin’s loss — Chloe bays, Apple Terrell, Cami Price, Parker Davis, and Sawyer Stamper.
