South Laurel delivers 18 hits in 18-0 rout of Corbin 

CORBIN — Kenzie Williams continues to prove she’s one of the top pitchers, and overall players, in the state.

The South Laurel standout was dominant in the circle, tossing a four-inning perfect game against Corbin as the Lady Cardinals rolled to an 18-0 victory.

The win marked the largest margin of victory South Laurel has ever had in the series, while also setting a new mark for most runs scored in the series between the two teams. 

The Lady Cardinals (16-4 overall, 3-0 vs. district teams) also connected with their 30th, and 31st home runs of the season as Skye Lawson, and Sadie Lewis both connected with home runs. Lawson finished with two hits, and four RBI while Lewis finished with a hit, three RBI, and two runs scored.

Morgan Jackson capped off a perfect game, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI while Bailey Frazier had three hits and two runs scored. Williams finished with two hits and two RBI while Ryleigh Bretz had two hits, two RBI, and one run scored. Lexi Messer finished with two hits, and RBI, and a run scored while Aubrey Messer delivered a hit, two RBI, and scored twice. Emmie Rice finished with a hit and an RBI while Kiley Dunaway had a hit, an RBI, and two runs scored.

The loss dropped Corbin to 4-15 overall, and 2-1 against district opponents.
