LEXINGTON — South Laurel hung tough against Bryan Station, but couldn’t pick up the win on Monday, falling, 3-2.
The Lady Defenders snapped the Lady Cardinals (13-4) five-game win streak by jumping out to a 3-0 after three innings of play.
South Laurel answered with two runs in the top of the fifth but couldn’t get any closer.
Lexi Messer led the Lady Cardinals with a 2-for-3 effort which included a home run and two RBI. Bailey Frazier and Morgan Jackson had South Laurel’s only other hits.
Kenzie Williams took the loss in the pitcher’s circle, allowing four hits and three earned runs while striking out 12 batters.
