Lady Generals hand Barbourville 18-3 loss 

BARBOURVILLE — Jackson County won its season-opener over Barbourville on Thursday with an 18-3 decision.

The Lady Generals scored three runs in the first inning before adding eight runs in the second inning and seven runs in the third inning.

The Lady Tigers scored all of their runs in the second inning.

Seventh grader Sophia Martinez, junior Kylie Moore, and seventh grader Tilly Truett each to pitch an inning apiece.

Junior Ella Sallee led Jackson County with three hits, three RBI, and one run scored while Moore finished with two hits, three RBI, and three runs scored. Lexi Brockman delivered two hits and two RBI while Baylee Berry had two hits and scored twice. Aubrey McCowan had two hits and scored twice.

Makenna Stewart had a hit and two RBI for Barbourville while teammate Kyra Newsome also drove in a run.
