WILLIAMSBURG — Bell County and Whitley County hooked up in an old-fashioned 13th Region battle with the Lady Bobcats surviving the Lady Colonels’ upset bid.
Ronnie Collier’s Lady Colonels held a slim 48-46 lead in regulation with less than a minute remaining before Bell County forced overtime while eventually winning, 56-52.
The win improved the Lady Bobcats to 20-6 while Whitley County fell 13-13.
Kairi Lamb led Bell County with 15 points while Bristal Jordan added 13 points, and Nevaeh Allen finished with 11 points. Aubree Miracle finished with seven points while Brylee Redmond knocked down a 3-pointer in regulation and two key free throws in overtime, finishing with five points. Josalynn Reeder added three points while Jaelynn Reeder finished with three points.
Maddy Hopkins led Whitley County with 23 points while Jonna Rice turned in a 12-point scoring effort.
