MCKEE — Jackson County continued a special season Friday night, knocking off Pineville 67-56 to reach the 20-win mark — just the fourth time since 1998 the Generals have accomplished that feat.
Joona Holm led the way with 22 points, setting the tone offensively. Brennon Combs added 15 points, while Wyatt Gray chipped in 13 as the Generals balanced scoring and controlled key moments of the game.
After the win, Jackson County head coach Parker Stewart credited the work his team has put in since day one.
“I’m extremely proud of these boys,” he said. “I know the whole draw/seed conversation has taken attention away from other things, but these boys have worked extremely hard since May when I first took this job and have improved so much. They show up every day, work hard and never complain. I can’t explain how proud I am of them and they deserve all the credit because they put the work in.
“We are going to continue to build the program our way, and I’m glad this group set the foundation and laid the ground work for years to come,” Stewart added. “We have one more regular season game, and then we prepare for the district tournament.”
