CLARKRANGE — Jonna Rice turned in a 15-point, 15-rebound effort to lead Whitley County to a big road win over Tennessee’s Clarkrange on Thursday.
Maddy Hopkins chipped in 20 points, and nine boards as the Lady Colonels evened their record at 12-12 with a 51-41 victory.
“It was great to come out with a win in a tough environment,” Whitley County coach Ronnie Collier said. “I’m very proud of our girls on how hard we fought with this being our third road game this week. It took us awhile to get settled into the game after the long bus ride, but I felt like we played pretty solid in the second half. Jonna had a huge double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Maddy had another good game with 20 points and nine rebounds. We will take a well deserved rest after this week, and then we have to prepare for a tough road game at Middlesboro on Monday, and a good Bell team at home on Tuesday. Go Colonels.”
