Williamsburg drops double overtime heartbreaker to Lee County

BEATTYVILLE — Williamsburg had hopes of getting back to the win column, but came up just short, dropping a 54-51 decision in double overtime.

The loss dropped the Lady Yellow Jackets to 8-13 with regular season play ending in the next two weeks.

“Not the turnout we wanted, especially in double overtime,” Williamsburg coach Melissia Douglas said. “There’s so much for us to learn from this one. Tonight exposed our inexperience in key moments. Lee has always been tough on their home court, and they simply outworked us. We’ll take these mistakes as lessons, grow from them, and keep pushing forward. We still have five more games to play.”

Abby Moses led the Lady Yellow Jackets with 20 points while Ellie Breeding followed with 17 points.
