MIDDLESBORO — Kairi Lamb once again set the tone for Bell County as the Lady Bobcats rolled to a 50-33 win over Middlesboro on Thursday.
Lamb finished with 20 points and dominated the glass with 18 rebounds as Bell County improved to 19-5 on the season while finishing 52nd District play with an unblemished 6-9 mark.
The Lady Yellow Jackets fall to 12-8, and 2-4.
The Lady Bobcats jumped out early, taking a 9-2 lead after the first quarter while holding Middlesboro to just one field goal. Bell County extended its advantage to 22-15 at halftime before putting the game away in the third quarter.
Bell County outscored the Lady Jackets 19-6 in the third period to build a commanding 41-21 lead entering the fourth quarter. Lamb controlled the paint on both ends, while Nevaeh Allen knocked down key shots from the perimeter.
Allen added 14 points, including two 3-pointers, while Bristal Jordan scored seven points. Brylee Redmond and Aubree Miracle chipped in four points apiece, and Taylor-Gracie Partin added two points.
Bell County controlled the boards, outrebounding Middlesboro 38-29, and held the Lady Jackets to just 12-of-51 shooting from the field.
