Redhounds drop third straight with loss to Russell County

BEREA — Tony Pietrowski’s Corbin Redhounds’ struggles continued Saturday during the Smallwood Classic.

The Redhounds (8-11) dropped their third consecutive game after a 66-63 loss to Russell County.

“Another tough loss,” Pietrowski said. “They shot it really well, but we had opportunities to win. We’ve got to get better in some areas over the next couple weeks.”

Corbin built a 19-9 lead in the first quarter, and led 39-34 at halftime.

The Lakers rallied in the second half, outscoring Corbin, 32-24.

Evan Ellis led the Redhounds with 21 points while Eli Pietrowski followed with 19 points. Dalton Henderson chipped in 12 points.
