CORBIN — Freshman Kaelyn Burnett turned in one of her best efforts of the season, scoring 13 points to lead Pineville past Lynn Camp, 68-30, on Thursday.
Burnett did most of her damage in the third quarter after tossing in four points in the second quarter.
The Lady Mountain Lions held a 32-13 lead at halftime before Burnett scored nine of her team’s 12 points during the third quarter, allowing Pineville to pull away while taking a 44-19 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Mountain Lions outscored Lynn Camp, 24-11, during the final eight minutes.
Burnett led Pineville with 13 points while Clara Strange followed with 12 points. Madison Johnson added nine points while Hannah Abner chipped in eight points.
Destiny Chancellor led Lynn Camp with 13 points while Lauren Partin and Aubrey Hollin finished with seven points apiece.
The win improved Pineville to 11-10 overall and 2-1 against 51sr District teams while the Lady Wildcats fall to 6-10, and 0-3 against district opponents.
