MCKEE — The No. 9 ranked North Laurel’s Jaguars are hitting on all cylinders after recording an 81-45 win over 49th District for Jackson County on Tuesday.
Nate Valentine’s squad has now won a season-best nine games in a row while improving to 17-4 overall, 8-0 against regional opponents, and 6-0 against district foes.
North Laurel’s had four players reach double figures in scoring with Reece Davidson scoring 11 of his team-best 18 points in the first quarter. Kaiden Allen hit two 3-pointers, and finished with 16 points while Jordan Rawlings scored 15 points while hitting three 3-pointers, and Cooper Elza tallied six of his 12 points in the first quarter.
“I really liked our defensive effort early tonight,” Valentine said. “We hadn’t played a game in over a week but we had several really good days of practice. We have five games in six days, all on the road, and I really liked our mindset thru the first game.”
The Jaguars put the game away in the first quarter, building a 28-6 lead, and never looking back. They held a 48-26 edge at halftime, and a 69-33 lead entering the fourth quarter.
The loss dropped the Generals to 14-7, and 2-2 against district teams.
