WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County’s moved its record to 15-5 with an impressive, 91-70, win over Pineville on Friday.
The 91-point output is the most the Colonels have scored in a game this season.
“Good win for our guys,” Whitley County coach Eric Swords said. “I thought after the first quarter our guys played well offensively. I think we had five in double figures — Garrett and Henry were aggressive tonight. Tootie was Tootie. Levi hit some shots. It was good to get Riley back in there, I thought he looked good in the spurts he played.
“Credit to coach Levy and Pineville,” he added. “He had his kids battling and they played well, and made a ton of 3s, they have a bright future.”
Tootie Mahan led Whitley County with 28 points, scoring 15 of those in the fourth quarter. Garrett Sharp added 17 points while Henry Bowling scored 16 points. Levi Jackson and Riley Fuson scored 11 points apiece.
The loss dropped the Mountain Lions to 8-9 as Noah Slone hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 26 points. Preston Zachery added 11 points while Jacob Grubbs and Brady Hatmaker scored 10 points apiece.
