Jaguars firing on all cylinders during 102-64 win over Jackson County 

LONDON — North Laurel reached the 100-point plateau for the first time since Feb. 24, 2023 (versus Clay County) with its 102-64 49th District win over Jackson County on Friday.

The Jaguars’ (13-4 overall, 3-0 against 49th Distroct opponents) offensive attack is hitting on all cylinders. They’ve scored at least 90 points during their past two games, and at least 80 points during their past three games.

North Laurel is averaging 84.6 points per game during its past five games. 

The Jaguars put the game away with a 39-point third quarter. 

“I’m really proud of our guys for getting a district win tonight,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “I thought we played really hard, played with good pace and shared the ball well. We have a quick turnaround tomorrow and will need to refocus and be ready to go.”

North Laurel was powered by Mr. Basketball candidate Reece Davidson’s 31 points. Davidson was consistent throughout the game, scoring eight points in the first and second quarters. Nine points in the third quarter, and six points in the fourth quarter. Jordan Rawlings hit four 3-pointers and scored 21 points, including 15 points in the third quarter. Cooper Elza hit two 3-pointers, finishing with 19 points while Kaiden Allen hit four 3-pointers and scored 12 points, and Corey Cunagin finished with 10 points. 

Joona Holm led the Generals with 14 points while Brennan Combs and Tansen Truitt both scored 11 points apiece. Ashton Clemens finished with 10 points.
