MANCHESTER — Clay County put together one of its most impressive performances of the season Tuesday night, rolling past Barbourville 77–34 as the Lady Tigers improved to 9–8 on the year. Barbourville dropped to 4–7 with the loss.
The Lady Tigers were in control from the opening tip, jumping out to a 25–9 lead after the first quarter and stretching the margin to 41–16 at halftime. Clay County continued to pour it on in the second half, leading 66–24 entering the fourth quarter before closing out the lopsided victory.
Maci White delivered a historic performance, breaking the school record by knocking down nine three-pointers on her way to a game-high 31 points. White also added seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals in a dominant all-around effort.
Carly Fultz followed with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Madison Pendland scored seven points. Harper Rice added six points, and Kenzie Grubb chipped in three as Clay County showcased its depth and firepower.
Clay County shot 26-of-59 from the floor and connected on 12 three-pointers in the win while forcing 24 Barbourville turnovers and winning the rebounding battle 42–24.
Bre Engle led Barbourville with 13 points while Marleigh Martin and Sadie Hoffman scored six points apiece.
