CORBIN — Pineville earned a spot in the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic girls championship game with a 51-45 win over Barbourville in semifinal action Monday.
The Lady Mountain Lions improved to 8-5 on the season with the victory and will advance to face Jackson County in the 13th Region All ‘A’ title game. Barbourville saw its season record move to 4-4 with the loss.
Rachel Howard led Pineville with a game-high 21 points. Clara Strange added nine points, while Kaiti Hammontree chipped in seven to help push the Lady Mountain Lions into the championship.
Barbourville was paced by Marleigh Martin and Bre Engle, who each scored 17 points to keep the Lady Tigers within striking distance. Sadie Hoffman added six points in the loss.
