PINEVILLE — Pineville didn’t get the win, but the Mountain Lions continue to show improvement, and will be a tough out come postseason play.
Pineville held a 35-31 lead at halftime against Nicholas County before falling, 64-58.
Noah Slone led the Mountain Lions with 14 points while Kenton Brock, and Preston Zachery both scored 12 points. Jacob Grubb finished with 10 points.
“I thought we did a good job in the first half on both ends of the floor executing our game plan,” Pineville coach Brad Levy said. “We got away from some things in the second half that were working and stopped rebounding the way we needed to. They’re a good team that will compete for the All ‘A’ and region tournament in March. “This is one of those nights that our young guys will have to learn and grow from and be better prepared for this type of situation in the future,” he added. “Our team is getting better each night out right now and we hope to keep that going in a positive direction heading into the new year.”
