GATLINBURG, Tenn. — The Lady Generals picked up their first win of the season on Thursday, edging Hamilton, Ala., 38-34, at the Smoky Mountain Classic in Gatlinburg.
Junior Baylee Berry led the way for the Lady Generals with 11 points and six rebounds, providing a steady presence on both ends of the floor. Sophomore Rylee Bowman followed with nine points and four rebounds as the Lady Generals leaned on balanced scoring to secure the victory.
Seventh grader Sofia Martinez stepped up in a big way, finishing with seven points, three assists and three steals, while fellow seventh grader Adi Brockman added four points and five rebounds. Hannah Jackson chipped in three points, and Scarlett Peel and Kyle Martin each scored two.
Tilly Truett, also a seventh grader, contributed in multiple areas with five rebounds and three assists as the Lady Generals made key plays down the stretch to hold off Hamilton and seal the win.
