Historic Night in Yellow Jacket Country: Middlesboro Ends 10-Year Drought vs. Lady Generals

MIDDLESBORO — The Middlesboro Lady Yellow Jackets notched their first win over Jackson County in close to 10 years after rolling to a 50-30 win on Monday.

    Middlesboro (2-1) had dropped five games in a row to the Lady Generals before tonight’s victory, the Lady Yellow Jackets’ first over Jackson County since Dec. 14, 2015. 

    Sally Adams’ squad dominated from beginning to end, leading 13-3 at the end of the first quarter, and 27-10 at halftime before outscoring the Lady Generals, 23-20, in the second half.

    Emily Lambert led Middlesboro with 16 points while Millie Roberts followed with 11 points, and Addyson Larew scored 10 points.

    Adi Brockman and Sofia Martinez both added seven points apiece for Jackson County (0-3).
