PINEVILLE — Senior Rachel Howard came up big Friday, scoring 24 points to lead Pineville past Perry Central with a 57-51 win.
Howard scored seven points in the first quarter, six points in the second quarter, and 11 points in the third quarter while finishing the game 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.
The Lady Mountain Lions (1-1) entered the second quarter tied at 18 apiece before taking a 33-23 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Pineville led 44-35 entering the fourth quarter before holding on to get the six-point victory.
