The Mountain Lions had hopes of pulling off the first round upset against Hazard, but never got on track on both sides of the ball, losing 48-6, during first round action of the Class A playoffs.
Pineville finishes the season with a 5-6 mark.
Boyle County 52, Whitley County 6
DANVILLE — Whitley County’s season came to an end with a 52-6 loss to Class 4A power and No. 1 ranked Boyle County during Thursday’s first round of the Class 4A playoffs.
The Colonels trailed 52-0 before finally scoring with 7:35 remaining in the game thanks to a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Dee Parker.
