Williamsburg’s Dirk Berta named KVCA 13th Region Coach of the Year

WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg coach Dirk Berta was named Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association’s 13th Region Coaches of the Year on Monday.

Berta guided Williamsburg to its first-ever 20-win season, and a 20-15 mark overall.

He also led the Lady Yellow Jackets to their fifth consecutive 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic Championship this past season, too.

“God is good,” Berta said. “We have tremendous assistant coaches and they deserve most, if not all of the credit. Josey Berta and Natalie Morris are the best assistant coaches around and I wouldn’t have anyone else to coach and influence our players in a positive way! Our players are great as well.

“They all pulled together the entire season and really performed well,” he added. “They deserve a ton of the credit as well. They believed in themselves, their teammates, and their abilities and that really showed throughout the entirety of the season! None of this is possible without our assistant coaches and our players. They deserve a ton of the credit. I am proud of the program that we have all worked together to build and to see the successes of our hard work. As always, Go Jackets.”
