MIDDLESBORO — The battle for the Class A, District 7 championship lived up to the hype as Middlesboro pulled off a 22-14 decision to pull out the win.
The Yellow Jackets built a 14-0 advantage before holding off a late rally by Williamsburg.
Middlesboro quarterback Deakon Partin threw two touchdown passes and ran one in for a score while receiver Amari Houston finished with two touchdown receptions.
Middlesboro finishes district play with a percent 4-0 mark while Jerry Herron’s Yellow Jackets fall to 4-3 and 2-1 against district competition.
Williamsburg quarterback Reece Hatcher threw for two touchdowns while Peyton Hamilton caught a 45-yard touchdown pass and teammate Chase Meddles was on the receiving end of a 35-yard touchdown pass.
