LONDON — Oneida Baptist left no doubt Friday night, rolling to a 5-0 win over North Laurel to capture the 49th District Boys’ Soccer Tournament championship.
The Mountaineers (16-3) got revenge from an earlier loss to the Jaguars (10-8-2) this season, setting the tone early and never letting up. Their attack was relentless, and their defense stood firm, keeping North Laurel off the board from start to finish.
Hero Khajohnsupawatchara delivered a hat trick to lead the Mountaineers, while Henrique Gabardo and Jonathan Fan each added a goal in the dominant effort.
“Really happy with the win tonight,” Oneida Baptist coach Hunter House said. “It was a complete performance by the boys. We came out really strong to start the match and I think that set the tone. We were able to keep a clean sheet which I was really pleased with. We will celebrate tonight then we will begin to prepare for next week’s region tournament.”
