SOMERSET — North Laurel improved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in district play with a 24-14 win over Southwestern Pulaski on Friday night.
The Jaguars’ offense was balanced once again, as Braxton Fultz hauled in a touchdown pass from quarterback Jude McWhorter, who also found the end zone on the ground. Cooper Robinson added a rushing touchdown to help seal the victory.
“Anytime you can come away from a district game with a win you are happy,” Nelson said. “I’m very happy with the adjustments we made at half time and came out and fought and executed. I thought we came out really flat and hurt ourselves. We did not play up to our expectations but we fought hard and the players made adjustments to come away with the win.
“I’m very proud of this team and I love the way they fight,” he added. “We have another tough district game against Pulaski this week and we have to practice our guts out every day and fix the mistakes we made. Go Jags.”
