LEXINGTON — David Broyles’ North Laurel Jaguars suffered their worst loss of regular season play by dropping an 8-0 decision to Dunbar while falling to 9-7/2 during the process.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first half and never looked back.
“We came into the game tonight down a starter and a little banged up and didn’t have our best first half, against the best team we’ve played this year,” Broyles said. “We didn’t have our best effort and got ourselves into a 6-0 hole by halftime. We came out the second half and played much better and held them off while giving ourselves some opportunities on the offensive end.
“We got tired and conceded two more goals with 14 minutes to go,” he added. “The boys played with heart and hustle in the second half and that’s what I was looking for. Im proud of this team for how they worked in the second half and we will use this experience going forward into district play.”
