WINCHESTER — Corbin’s Makena Myatt, South Laurel’s Alyssa Siler, and Clay County’s Lilly Smith will be moving on in the KHSAA Girls’ State Golf Tournament after turning in stellar results during first round action.
Myatt placed third overall in Region’s 9-12 by shooting a 74 while Siler turned in an eighth place effort with a 77. Smith placed 22nd while shooting an 83.
Both Corbin and North Laurel missed out, team-wise, advancing with the Lady Redhounds placing fourth (377) while the Lady Jaguars finished fifth (412).
Myatt’s 74 paced Corbin while Kalyn Watkins (85), Brooke Kfoury (107), Paige Kfoury (111) and Kylie Cuel (117) followed.
Lily Kate Chesnut led North Laurel with a 96 while Maddie Brewer (100), Ella Baker (108), Kate Gilliam (108) and Riley Vickers (111) followed.
South Laurel’s Lily Barton also competed, finishing with a 91.
